HARTISMERE PETTY SESSIONS. - MONDAY.

Frederick Wilson Colchester, farmer, Thrandeston, was sued for allowing eight store pigs to stray on the highway, on May 17th. - Defendant admitted the offence and previous warnings, but said he had tried to keep the pigs in. People left the gate open and the pigs got out. He intended in future to keep them shut up. - A fine 12/6, including costs, was inflicted.

SANITARY REPORT.

Mr. G.H. Jones, Sanitary Inspector, reported that an application had been received from Mr. Frederick Wilson Colchester, Church Farm, Thrandeston, to be registered as a retail purveyor of Milk. The Council approved the application. He also reported that the recent gales dislodged the tiling of the Hopper House (Infectious Hospital) roof, and that portion of the bedroom ceiling needed replastering. He said it was not a big job and he was directed to have done what was necessary. - The report was passed.

DISS PETTY SESSIONS.

Cycled on Pavement.

For riding a cycle on the footpath at Mount Street, Diss, on April 21st, Frederick Wilson Colchester, of Church Farm, Thrandeston, was fined 2/6 including costs.

P.-c. Mobbs stated that the offence occured about 7.40 p.m. and defendant was riding on the pavement opposite the Sarasen’s Head Inn. Defendant said there was no one about and he did think that there was any harm in it.

Diss Magistrate's Court

Farmer left his car in dangerous position

FOR leaving a car in a dangerous position in Park Road, Diss, on 1st June, Frederick Wilson Colchester (56), a farmer of Church Farm, Thrandeston, was fined £4 and for driving the car on the same day without a driving licence he was fined £1, last week by Diss Magistrates.

Giving evidence, P.c. S. Garman said that Colchester’s car was parked in Park Road in such a position as to cause vehicles coming down Denmark Street, into Park Road, to be forced over to the wrong side of the road.
